A schemer and a dreamer; living in the land of me, me, ME

A net magazine
As I peruse and surf the stratosphere, I ponder and mull the idea of creating an online magazine.  I come across some pretty splendid ones.  This is not a unique idea or a new one.

If you don't know by now, you haven't been reading my blog much, or maybe not at all.  Fair enough.  You're here now.  That's what matters in the scheme of things.

You could call me a schemer and a dreamer.  I like to see what is out there and ready to unfold.  While working hard and pressing for self-improvement with focus on being a mindful practitioner.

Experience
I've created a magazine.  I've launched one.  I've had it printed and distributed.  I've worked with ad agencies, ad agents, national, global affiliations with writers and freelancers around the world.

Well that was let's say about 15 or so years ago.  But man, I loved it.  I was like my own world of Oprah.  Living in the land of me, me, ME.

Purpose
The search for cause and purpose gives me more energy than that someone of "my age" would normally allow.  Energy is not something that I've been accused of lacking.  In fact, it is when I seem quieter and relaxed, my familiar over reacts, thinking I may be becoming lethargic.

Worry by loved ones is never a bad thing.  May everyone always have someone who cares that much for them, as you.  Unique as you are.

I will continue to blog in various genres to test the aptitude of my writing and attitude of anyone taking the time to read.  When one is ten times more than zero.

I appreciate having you along on my various experiments.  One that is evolving almost by accident currently:  using Google's blogspot blogging platform to see if it makes a difference since they are driving search results.

I have a blog on Word Press and the crowd seemed very cozy and supportive.  Not that that has driven any great volume to that blog.  There are a few that do.  But it is still a crowd of cheerleaders who will promote each other by popularity, politics and the normal high school power struggles.

Say it and share it

So, I've written it down.

I've shared it.

Now it is time to do it.

NOW

Not tomorrow.

TODAY

Not later.

EXCEPT

Not this minute.

Being mindful does not mean one has to fast forward from task to task, never taking the time to savor it.  Enjoy it.  There is only one of it.

That sounds like a poem:  I'll have to admit, searching, reading and sharing poetry with a purpose on The Publisher has expanded my horizon on poetry.  I tested myself to see if I could read poetry.  Not something that I have done.  Give it a try.  I think you will enjoy how it appeals to the senses as much as I.

Yes, I, I, I.

To create a magazine:  I will be the Publisher

NOTE (meaning)

Shaka sign

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For other uses, see Shaka (disambiguation).
The "shaka" sign is a common greeting in the Hawaiian culture, subsequently also used in surfer culture.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture. It consists of extending the thumb and smallest finger while holding the three middle fingers curled, and gesturing in salutation while presenting the front or back of the hand; the hand may be rotated back and forth for emphasis. The shaka sign was adopted from local Hawaiian culture and customs by visiting surfers in the 1960s, and its use has spread around the world.

Meaning and use[edit]

Hawaiians use the shaka to convey the "Aloha Spirit", a concept of friendship, understanding, compassion, and solidarity among the various ethnic cultures that reside in Hawaii, lacking a direct semantic to literal translation. The shaka can also be used to express "howzit?", "thanks, eh?", and "all right!" Drivers will often use it on the road to communicate distant greetings and gratitude.
In American Sign Language, the shaka is one of the two signs used to refer to surfing.[citation needed] In California, the shaka sign may be referred to as "hang loose" or "hang ten"—both associated with surfer culture.[1]

No strings attached?

How often do people offer to help with no strings attached?

It occurred to me the other day when someone who had tweeted at me to thank me for a Retweet #rt probably and included asking me whether he could provide me with any assistance.    I had responded with tweets and in my zest and exuberance (or zubrance in an english speakers'  lazy lingo).

I had replied inviting him to read and subscribe to my optioneerJM blog.  Mighty lofty eh?  Well, he DID ask me.

Let's do lunch
Is another cop out when a conversation starts running out of steam and you haven't figured out how to gracefully bow out of a phone chat that has gotten out of hand by its sheer length.  Admittedly, that is the norm whenever calls me.  Instead of just saying quickly, I gotta go, and then "click".  Back in the day when I fooled myself into thinking I was sophisticated and classy, I'd say that a lot.  As my budget diminished, it changed to "let's go for coffee".

Not for sale
Contrary to popular belief, sales folk do not enjoy being sold to.  If anything, they are looking for the "close" to get to the main point so they can move on.

Especially annoying to me is when someone is trying to sell me something unsolicited.  Just post your resume online to test my theory.  You will be bombarded with numerous job opportunities .... from scammers.

#F4F as an online currency
I decided right there and then to see if I could re-tweak the hashtag #F4F to change its meaning from "Follow for follow" label to "Favor for a favor" to create a free referral network.  If someone does a favor for you, or you do a favor for them, include the #F4F hashtag.  Hopefully, people will congregate there to create a climate of exchanging ideas, follows, retweets, subscribers, and influence merit.

referral exclusivity
You'll probably notice, as in most other things in life, career, family, friends:  there are takers and then there are givers.  Rarely do the two worlds collide.  Why is that?

copy cats
then there is plagiarism on social media.  If you put your great idea out there, it is presented to be scooped up by someone who doesn't have the imagination nor ideas of their own.  They create their own press and make believe that they are social media rock stars.

entitlement
some people will take your ideas without a blip of a conscience.    Their strong sense of self suggests that they can just help themselves to someone else's idea and make it there own.

guilt-free
A guilty conscience would rarely be formed.  Promises can be made and kept within a few keystrokes.

guilt-thee
Some don't give credit for an idea scooped up and owned.  You made it better right?  Or, called it something different.

own it
ownership is difficult for ideas on social media and the web.  If you put it out there, blog it, share it, state it ... it is fodder for cheaters to say they own it.

renamed
to something that sounds a little more like them or rephrased differently.  Jump on a blog and write about it and then start tweeting it on Twitter and everywhere to take claim.

Foul ish
anything truly dishonest like this ends up as a plot for a movie or becomes reality on social media.

#F4F Currency
Let's give it a try.  Forget bitcoin and any other online currency attempt.  Why not use the thing that is sitting in front of your nose, and accessible by your fingertips.  DO try this at home!  I believe that people will start to reciprocate and communicate, arriving at a mutually beneficial exchange.  No money required.

un- free
nothing in the climate of referral is ever free.  Money may not necessarily exchange hands, maybe a special loyalty discount incorporated, referral fees perhaps.  The expectation is never that anything is for free.  Your opinion, your referral, your network, your reputation is worth something.

rewarded
share it and as others embrace it and share it.  Reward them.  Don't be dishonest and scam people into revealing their identity.  Just so that you can try to scam them or sell them some more.

Make use of your gift, talent, ability
Save your money.

Expressive + creative = reflections

Excuse moi to readers who come to optioneerJM for business, leadership, sales or social media advice.  You have been bombarded with clips from Polyvore, independently posted.

I apologize.  It was another experiment or test.  No apologies for the test certainly.  I disclose that I am constantly trying out new avenues online to see what is what, what works, and how I may want to do things differently.

This is a "do differently".

Polyvore allows users to create fashion statements, creative ensemble within a specific user base:  fashion enthusiasts, fashionistas and creative personalities.  I hadn't been there for a while before yesterday.  Because I haven't, I looked at the experience with fresh eyes, as if new.

Polyvore is a great environment for the fashion conscience, creative minds, fasionistas and the like.  My meanderingsabout blog is my reflection on creative expression ... outside the "box" of what I write here.

Creativity is an integral part of who I am.  I recognized the following I had and that they were not interested in the fashionista and beauty side of who I am:  a woman in her 50s fighting aging by using a tasteful fashion, accessories, beauty regime.  That's where I created Meanderings about a year ago.

Maybe the original idea was to have a blog where I could "rant".  Then realizing that people just don't like to read about rants, in general.  The only time I've seen them work is when a group amasses to express a similar disapproval.  More often, I've noticed, they are directed at airlines.  I would say telecommunication cellular providers would battle for first other days.

Then I began writing as if I was giving advice to my daughters on life, living, love and dating.  They may not read it.  My three daughters and stepdaughter aged 22, 23 and 25.  A great representation of the Millennials.

Not all experiments are successful.  Usually you can extrapolate what you have learned from the exercise and extrapolate "do differently" for down the road.

So Polyvore has the right idea:  they allow enthusiasts to share their creations on Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook.  Sadly, missing is instaGRAM.  Also, when you select posting for a Blog, the default is Tumblr, while allowing you to select "BLOG" for Google's Blogspot posts.  It defaults to the blog you have associated with your email address, which in this case is optioneerJM.  It doesn't allow me to distinguish it if you happen to have more than one blogspot.

I will continue to fiddle around and experiment.  Thank you for your understanding.  I apologize if it seemed misleading to draw my loyal readers here, thinking I may be writing about sales and instead be bombarded with these posts that seem commercial.  You share the image you created on Polyvore, and then what Brands represent the products you have selected.

Polyvore has Polyvore Clippers, which I am liking, and just getting around to trying (for instance the image of Sally Field in character of Doris surrounded by scarves and cat eye glasses.

There are a lot of tools or sites that start out with one idea and its users evolve and experiment, bringing a wider ensemble of tools and ways to share.  I'm never content to just create, post, share.  I like to test to see how it can be used in building social media audiences or "content" as the big thing these days is.

Corporate brands and companies have gotten the message.  They are adding "Blog" to their websites.  However, the conundrum is how to keep the Blogs fresh, relevant, with regular posting.  A way to drive viewers to the website, where the website is suppose to take over and keep the audience there longer, to click, go deeper into the site.  Even better if an inquiry or lead generated or a sale.

I will keep exploring and doing experiments and reporting findings for others to benefit.  Even if that means an annoying array of blog posts that seem to have little to nothing to do with the central theme.

IF, this happened to make you curious.  I went to Polyvore to gather ideas for a Halloween costume -- obviously, I'm looking to be "Doris" from this great, whimsical, movie about an isolated woman in her 60s who steps out, after the passing of her mother whom Doris was caregiver to.  The idea of how she takes on what is normally Tween or Teenage experiences about dating and socializing.

Doris is wonderfully portrayed by Oscar winner Sally Field, whom I hope gets an Oscar for this great role.  You can't help but be entertained with her crush experience, being coached by a 13 year old friend's granddaughter.

Now, I will tidy up optioneerJM and move the creations over to meanderingsABOUT and delete the errant posts from here once they are where they belong.  (CHECK ~ done)

I will continue to experiment and try new things.  To report on findings that may help others with their social media experience, expand their social selling efforts, or share advice on business or leadership.  It has been a fun ride, and after 200,000+ page views, I look forward to continue to learn and share those experiences with you.

You can join me on Polyvore and join in the fun!  I've experimented with GROUPS, creating one for fashionista creatives who want to create ensembles that Doris would love:
