Environment politics vision

Two opposing forces
Perhaps it is politicians out of touch with what the people want?  I am starting to think that the difference between good or mediocre politicians and great leaders is their intuitive touch with their public and constituents.

Trump and Obama
Are two complete opposites with some common ground that nobody could disagree with:

  • love of family
  • love of country
  • integrity of words
  • charisma
  • showmanship
  • leadership
  • commitment to commitments
Yet two areas they are on opposing views as the north is to the south, east to the west, on their vision for North America.

Whereas Obama's dedication to the environment may be his greatest legacy.  He also had commitment to the safety of people.  Recognizing through his real life experience, that anyone, regardless of genetics, history, paternity, color, race or beliefs, can grow and learn.  Stretch and reach his goals of leading what was once the most powerful nation in the world, to grab the baton of legends like Roosevelt, Kennedy, Lincoln or Washington were born.  Men of courage facing almost insurmountable odds, are reveled by history to which today's children and generations before or after to be learned from.

The commonality among the weakest links are not any less embarrassing for its citizens when it hits them hard, in their pride, love of country, and tenacity to carry on, despite everything.  Those are things that resonate with me when I think of the United States of America.

I wrote about them imploding back a few years ago.  I didn't really comment editorial on goings on in the world, but I have a few times.  Prophecy or deep understanding with perception on how to bundle the facts into predictions or road being traveled.

My husband and I had this very hearty debate not twenty minutes ago.  These really cool discussions burst out of the folds of our daily living where one of us makes a comment on the state of the world based on current events.   In those brief five minutes, we nourished each out and boosted our viewpoints because we could defend our point of view in the safety of our appreciation and respect for each other.

Similarly, both Trump and Obama
clearly demonstrate love and devotion to their families, their wives, their children, their friends. Certainly how they differ on how conjoined the two are between family and office. What is a more obvious distinction is how it is made up.

Obama's love of wife and daughters
is crystal clear.  His vision and direction were defined by leaving the world a better place for his daughters and the world.  He went after safety with his heart on his sleeve.  You cannot doubt his deep reflection on the devastation guns have self-inflicted among their midst.  Such a contrary to the view that the world perceives them to have:

That they are the world referee, where countries like Canada and England mere peacekeepers when violence erupts.  Upholding the rights of humanity and defending basic human rights by giving out riches in the form of monetary relief, protection, feeding the poor and saving the health of others before themselves.
"Your positiveness is like a beacon toward others, inspiring optimism and faith."
 ~ Jeannette Marshall

That is another distinct difference between Trump and Obama.  Their approaches are so different.  Obama's legendary empathy was trying to remove nuclear threat in areas that are war torn, corrupt or falling apart.  Obama zeroed in on the most foreseeable threats, and I'm guessing here .....

  • The greatest singular figure posing a threat to the United States, North America and the UN was Bin laden.  As Bin Laden faded into the background, martyrdom growing as his survival held on.  Leading the fearful example that you can get away with murder and be acclaimed and praised for it.  The need to snuff it out clear.
  • Corruption in the financial nucleus of American financiers was rampant.  Made worse by his powerless capability to inflict any change.  Handcuffed by the political system
Critical attention
on the environment versus it being a hoax seems apparent differences between Trump and Obama.  Completely opposing views.  The American citizens clearly confused between who is right, who is wrong, or is anybody right?

Health of the country views
communicated at odds.  Where one says that if you believe, you can accomplish and the other says the country is at the brink of disruption.

Health is a necessity
they both agree.  The journey or road map differing completely.  Causing instability and fear to the ill and the elderly and the poor.  Faith in its country ever brightly filled with optimism that the democracy alone can alleviate their concerns.

Self-destructive causes
appear differently in each others' eyes.  One sees the right to everyone to belong while the other sees it as being a privilege and not a right to live among the community it seeks to destruct.

Our home and native land
even has uncertainty clouding our core.  The questions one must ask is whether we are on a road of redemption and worthiness?

Is the direction of our politics
in our eyes the vision we want for our future and children?   If it isn't, are we facing the right direction and making the changes needed to survive and flourish?

What comes first? Safety security air?
Is the debate we hear resonating among everyone:  the politicians, the media, our own voices.  What is our greatest risk immediately is what panic makes us ponder.  Our pocket books, our safety, or ability to breath for generations, not merely years to come?

There lies the difference
Who can make the strongest case in what should be the main focus today will be the winner.  If the lowly citizen is left to deal with the consequences, will it spell optimism, inspiration, activation and execution.

Promise made, promised delivered
Execution is being able to deliver on promises shaped by plans and steps taken.  When the promises are glowing brightly like a beacon as a lighthouse is for lost ships.

Good grief:: I need website relief!

Ideas that stick
Being able to come up with ideas and being able to implement and execute are two completely different worlds, rare do they meet other than through collaboration and cooperation between two total polar opposites.

Imagineers
Are few and far between.  The true legends, in my opinion, are Walt Disney and Steve Jobs.  Then there are so many others that come to mind when this thought occurs.  They are able to combine BOTH the talent of the creative sphere while wildly ground by logic and purpose by which they can tenaciously execute.

Character
Is the innate inner core of their psyche.  It isn't inherited or taught.  It is almost as unique as DNA.  It can be the byproduct of your upbringing, your values (real, historical, current beliefs), morality, charisma, intuitiveness, academia, inventor, and on and on are unique elements to which each individual has which makes them unique.

Uniqueness
Is the final product, the birth of your custom variable combination of characteristic attributes in varying degrees or percentages.  To arrive at you, me, and any one person on earth.

Mannerisms
Is the fashion in which you convey your message.  By expression, by tone or by emphasis whether by vocal or physical movements or facial reflection.

Website
A domain has been set aside, settled upon, which will require some attention.  That's the fun part of creating a vision.  I may be sweating the small stuff when I know in my heart it will convey who I am and satisfy my thirst to help others .... as I've said, maybe not recognizable, to help others move beyond average to remarkable.  My website will have this goal.

Unfolding
Good thing I did map out on a spreadsheet some categories and elements that I want to include on my website.  This isn't anything that anyone can make decisions on more importantly online as managing the brand of which is you.  That becomes a far more daunting task.

Proof
Will be in the pudding if your website can reflect a really strong sense of who you are.  When we think of the world in terms of billions of people, times that exponentially by the number of clicks online.

Footprint
You can leave behind.  Your gift to the world by sharing that gift, should be considered when you think that all would be needed is ongoing website hosting support, indefinitely, to which you can leave a legacy.  Your art, your head for business, your eye on graphics, your talent in writing and story telling or illustrations or photographic mastery.

Importance
Of creating a website should be considered really important to your brand and your image.  It is what you are paid for by your shareholders, advertisers, or consumers.

Image
Is not everything.  Yet sometimes it settles so many things.  Think of some of the greatest minds such as Stephen Hawking and you quickly forget the vessel or body to which that mind has been entrusted to, increases in importance when you consider just that.

Consistency
In what you portray.  Not who you want to become, but real to who you are, growing in steps with a journey of knowledge insight and amassed intelligence along the way, while holding dear to your core character.  If it quality you want to be, then quality should be what you are looking at, appreciation for the world and animal kingdom beauty, not a sexy pout that may as well be in a cage instead of animals who did not decide that they wanted to be the object of oogles and googles and egos and upkeep, because the outer side our bodies can magnify our importance towards physical beauty, yet the best character evolution comes from surrounding oneself in a universe they want to be absorbed in.

Dreaming or scheming
Either can be fleeting (oh, a rhyme, lol).  Create real goals that are realistic and achievable.  Just remember that upon each step on the ladder of progress, the ladder goes up another rung at the top.  The weight can be lifted as your feel closer to your dreams meeting with reality.

Integrity, honesty, commitment
Are qualities that you demand of anyone before you give your trust.  Then that should be a larger hiccup or hurdle in your growth.  If you fail at honesty, integrity, then you will lose sight of any commitment or it deteriorates or rots when lacking the ability to build trust.

Trust begets loyalty
You only create an atmosphere that welcomes loyalty.  Loyalty is the reward for that dedication towards building and earning trust.

Decisions will be made
Some are easier than others.  Distinguishable similarly to a color scheme or room lighting selection.  Hardships aside.  Those will test your commitment.  Decisions can result in mistakes but tenacity within character can withstand and rebound from setbacks.

Inspire others
Is something that only a fragment of our world truly earn:  to be inspired by.  We think of Gandhi or Nelson Mandela in the very small club.  As examples.

Leave a small footprint, a tiny dent in our world.  Leave it a better place for others to learn from and aspire to, with purpose, and understanding that usually it comes long after hard work.

Mon adieu, HUH? What the heck! ...... wink WINK :~)

Goofing around on MicroSoft PAINT (tm)
on Valentines Day curing Shingles/Skin Infection

I've blogged about "Career Limiting Moves" on my Word Press Yuppydom blog:  when you bleep at your company or send an email OR Linked In Message (if you weren't connected, then there would be no reason to think that you are on their watch pile, so you'd not feel the entitlement of communicating your opinion.  Well, I won't go on about THAT now.  Let's just say, it would be a great publicity stunt to get into the news eh?  For an $11 Billion profitable world class organization, bred in Canada, to get involved with disgruntled customers and even less employees (whom the public seem to always side with and can ignite rage and nose-dive profits ....... that would be an interesting blog under aCOMMENTary wouldn't it?  (Talking to self).

p.s.  No, I have NOT imbibed a drop of wine (handy C***0 by my side | will include company name if payment via donation has been received | Upon completion of this blog, I will go to see if I can register said name on Twitter, etc.  so that I can ensure that I get credited (and paid for my idea >my personal currency is my IDEAS derived from thought fueled by knowledge< would be nice for a change .... or a few dollars>wink WINK :~)

Initiate opportunity to GROW:
Challenge ***** to a competition on who is the most influential voice not internally, or regionally but worldwide.  I'd be happy to use my Project Management + Magazine Publishing + Advertising Account Executive + President's Club Winner'ism + Idea + Creative:  I can launch the contest upon approval by both you and ** *********.

If this isn't the boldest challenge
in 4ever longtime ago, eh?   What does the WINNER get?  2 B the voice of *Company name could be inserted 4 a fee* on all Social Media Channels and J** Sites internally, to get things shaking; creating conversations (I began Twitter Notoriety by co-Hosting a #SalesChat hashtag online chat, breaking through the clutter to create intimate conversation).

Oh yeah, can't forget: the "Prize"
A one-year contract that pays $100,000 to the winner, who will have | duh, what else/"\ her own blog (called ***** Ambassador of the Year), YouTube Channel, ***** J** site, and all the videos and photography with captions or narration to create a mood and a vibe.

The vibe?  Pride.
Pride at the caliber of our customers, if not a bit quirky on the inside.    So what do you say?  Typically nothing:  as you are not engaging with anyone online ... maybe both need a little coaching on creating a personality more than a persona | the real person behind the shield is not what you may not be showing right now?  Anyhow, I will be posting this on my P******** and g**** blogs.  I'm working on a website as a result of being off work less than a week because of Shingles which evolved a secondary infection.

I will be posting
it on one of my blogs; maybe, I'll leave clues on where to go next::... but the compensation first:  would be a deal at the equivalent of $60K/yr  .... with work-from-home where i will set the hours based on online activity by viral or trending topics.  In fact, I would Tweet about this ***** Contest on Twitter as ********Award {I'll go reserve it as proof of my idea, for minimal compensation of $10,000 AFTER tax, benefits, payroll, union dues, payroll lottery and marked-up cafeteria because of S****** (or something like that who food services is ripping employees off as a profitable revenue venture).

I am one half of the way to earning compensation for what I do online and soon-to-be-much larger | my firm belief or fictional imagination | .... I am business AND sales savvy .... I just think that ***** really needs to be super-charged with its employees.  Who are drained, overworked, under-appreciated and bullied by either their peers, customers or support person.

Please feel free to reply to me here to get the ball rolling.  I respect and appreciate that you have people who sift through your communications and have me in the garbage dunk pile.  Hopefully, you WILL get THIS message as an IDEA to initiate opportunity, done through change, emerging a greater culture than ever, one to be envied, which you both could take credit for ;)

Warmest regards,
Jeannette Marshall
***.***.****

p.s.  I would have applied for the "********Award BUT my "Support Person" nor her "Support Person" didn't reach Directorship for sure .... none told me about this award, in almost 3 years that one could qualify for winning a trip to a GALA in Vancouver (yes! my style) .... I'll leave that for another blog.  Whichever one.  Hopefully, the one as the ***** Social Media AMBASSADOR because of my reach on my own steam of 21K followers and in excess of a million views on Google | those are the stats I have to back myself up.  How would you measure my success?  Easy:  I give you a report on where @*****JAM starts out and it will be both a report on just numbers then another one on the organizations thermometer:  tempo from drained, angry, but not angry enough to quit to engaged, motivated, love their jobs, can't wait to get into work.  Heck, author a book and capture the journey for other organizations to learn from and become a benchmark in the world.

This could evolve into something else if I do get fired.  Imagine the surprise if it is even acknowledged?  How many employees are brimming with a strong vibe of talent and energy that are subjected to bullying behavior by their immediate supervisor?  I wouldn't call this WWW (acronym for:  Wicked Witch of the West) a "boss" or even a "manager" unless referencing:  "micro-manager" (there's another idea for a blog via research and reading:  what does micro-managing cost the company and, besides health, the employee?  (We know that every major health risk, adjacent to smoking and excess drinking, would be STRESS)

Thanks for joining me.  Next up:  getting the sales and social media juices going after being afflicted by Shingles that went into a secondary infection while still be harassed by the WWW.  Sometimes just writing on here is a release of sorts.  As hitting 50, I think your "give a dam" meter gets super-charged and your typical tact goes by the wayside, of which you've earned upon reaching this milestone.  To the chagrin of loved ones (which is just about everybody ... yeah, you nailed it:  "except the WWW".)

Hey ~ how about those name mess ups in the United States (did you hear how yesterday the President said "Pierre" Trudeau .... or that Spicer guy is really creating comedic relief when he called him "Joseph Trudeau"..... His name is Justin Trudeau.  He is our Prime Minister.  He is stepping up into the job, regardless of the climb or shoes he had to fill.  (Maybe I will finally have something to blog about on anEDITORIALpage?)

Stay tuned, regardless.  It's always a ride.  I'm not afraid of the Roller Coaster from the anticipation of the climb to the thrill of going down.

My mascot:  Buddy

A little bit of this :-( and a lot more of THAT :o)

IMAGINATION inflation
Anyone who has read this blog more than a few times (which most fall under) has joined me in reflection, especially approaching my birthday.  Every person, businessperson, sales professional, artist, writer, creator, imagineer, imageer and optioneer should do this annually:

Your own Annual Life Plan
Taken with a twist on my REALLY popular Blog called "The 90-Day Plan" (I really wish I knew who the person was to give it a lift, sharing it somehow outside my typical social media radar.

Before you can move FORWARD
you have to have a heart to heart with yourself.  Seriously.  Honestly.  Barely a hairs breath away from your nose touching the mirror.

It can be your Journaling all at once!
For any other procrastinators like me.  Once I discovered a way to exhaust my mindfulness times 100% ::... by BLOGGING!

A cork popped open ||\\"//||
Ideas that had been brewing began to become released.  By sharing knowledge and seeking even more to fill up the depleted.

New Curiosities
unfold, gliding across your vision or glimpse of an expression, a beautiful attention getter image.

Stretching the imagination
because as it explodes into the universe, some small particles, fall glittering into a receptive hand.

My year in review
has been one of where I have been putting others first.  Not an easy feat to consider the impact one has on others, and try to obtain a lofty one, for them, not me.  That is one of the biggest struggles I've been wrestling with:  am I an impostor of greatness?  Was I really a big sales professional once upon a time?  Maybe I got lucky for a few years when the timing was right.

A social media experience
as I ride the waves from the tide pushed by others before me.  Am I just a toe in or knee deep?  Thank goodness for analytics to appeal to my numerical musical notes, de-scrambling and decoding information that is mine for the taking, just as I log on and click in.

Like a sponge floating
soaking up, but not falling too deep beyond the grasp of realization that maybe I've been looking at it all wrong.  I mean, I read A-LOT!  It never sinks me in, it expounds wonder at all the information at my disposal, my right, my actions, my clicks revealing a true, authentic person.

Not a persona but a brand
I've been continuing the brand I started so many years ago.  I tap into what has delighted me (like last night I was surfing the PINs on PINTEREST on "figure skating")  .... who cares how long I look?  Nobody, my WIFI provider LOVES the moola it extracts from me:  I have an "unlimited data plan".

True Authenticity
is when you allow your spirit and soul to guide you to what you find intriguing, moves you in its beauty.  The next wave a super social media rock stars will need to be authentic in a crowded noise of ME me ME (like Guy Kawasaki, who forgets was among his small tribe when he moved on to Google Plus G+ not remembering who they were, ah-hem, like moi).

I didn't adopt someone else
to build my brand by trying to be someone I am not, claim to know something I do not, brag about knowing someone to build your brand?  Well, my not-so-reciprocal friends aka |devils in disguise| narcissists | fake | crooks | egotistical | famed | self-proclaimed experts.

Honesty has been my guiding star
towards bright lights without sunglasses to block the glow.  Truthfulness is a strength in character, it is ingrained and cannot be replicated by large degrees.

Believe in me?
The jury is still out.  I just know that I'm not doing my God-given gift.  I keep looking and stretching to find it.  Sometimes I think maybe I've found it, when instead I've found some new great hobbies ::... like painting objects and making them into art.  Really a fun sidekick to have.

I may have become too scattered
creating far too many blogs, when here I should just write.  Focus on making one site really really good, then a bunch of others mediocre.

I've had this ah-HA moment before
I realize.  When I was jumping from advertising to the world of publishing ::... the how before the what.

The how before the what
Is really what makes me stand out.  I'm not suggesting that I really do, but I was trying to appease you, your time and dedication for reading thus far.

Whether it is sales, business or communication people gravitate to the explosive environment we allow ourselves to tumble into ::.... traditional media that has the explosion with headline before any details.  Saying WHAT??!!??

I gravitate towards  the HOW
which basically covers the how, the who, the where, the speculation as to the why, or the scientific explanation of the how.  I think people's eyes and sensibilities are been drummed out of the noise, and only ENGAGE with those they believe appeals to their own values, opinions, knowledge, genre, topics, interests, hobbies, visuals, emotional well being, what grabs them NOW.

I'm going to continue on this journey
with you by my side.  Continual in experimentation on a quest for new insights.  The insights that I share may be long and somewhat rambling.  But there is a nugget in there somehow.

Too many people haven't discovered
who they are so they try to invent themselves to be someone they're not.  For personal, professional, relationship reasons, known only to themselves.  They hide behind a character or persona in which they want the world to see them as.

An enthusiast
is what I tagged myself.  Does it really suit me?  OKay, thanks for the reminder mirror | DANG! (borrowed from my 22 y/old lovely daughter) | I am not always in a good mood.  Gasp, shocked?  Probably not those that know me and still love me would say.

Determined and tenacious
would be a common affront in succinctly describing me.  That's what is great.  As a woman who is 5 ft TALL and petite curvy figure ::.... it is a gracious honor to be synonymous with STRENGTH.

A nod for the new year ahead
will be the stretch to willpower.  Where I should examine these fair questions:

Am I trying to prove something?
To myself?  To someone else? Or bigger?
Am I doing my hardest to avoid and stay out of toxic environments or people? Am I being true to my GIFT that I am working to discover:  a teacher? a writer? an advertising Adonna?  | HA!  Google Chrome spell check:  "Ladonna, Madonna, Donna" | fooled YA!  Yes, I meant to make up a new word since GURU isn't even in the cards for a lot of knowledge to beget.

A website
I've been struggling with this for almost two years.  It doesn't fall under my PROCRASTINATION leanings, but I keep coming up with ideas on sections, which will fall under an umbrella of an e.zine.  I have experimented with blogs, Word Press, Go Daddy | good grief: worst experience EVA!  They didn't mind taking my money | "there's a sucker born every milisecond on the internet" | they fall into my bucket of ::... "NEVER AGAIN" pile.  Of which there are few, it's a small crowd, like my "former dentist" Lee (first or last name, I'll never tell, except from what it rhymes with "Cal-gar-y" ('y' pronounced "Eeee")

I'm going to write and let him know.  This young fellow, who shall not be named, unless agreed to by name).  I would like to showcase his work from Word Press websites.

What's in a name?
I can't settle on a name is what a name is about.  You'd be surprised how much time I spend waving on the tide of websites, website hosts, and a few creative outfits in between.

graFX
designCA has been born.  I guess pretty much anything I spend doing ends up in a blog of some sorts.  I launched it about a week ago.  What I want to do is showcase what I uncover for the social media crowd or blogging tribe.  Tools, resources, gallery, creative, writing host of a colossal kind!

Getting pumped up
now, creative juices flowing unabated, from feeling a strong sense of cabin FEVER since my skin erupted from either Shingles or a skin reaction/infection | doctors have conflicting prognosis | first time ever the Wicked Witch of the West has been nice to me in months, if exactly a year ago from now.

I think I have an idea
so I guess I better go.  Thanks for joining me while I uncork another idea for others to be amused by, inspired from or motivated to ..... JUST DO IT!

A very real book review ...

https://optioneerjm.wordpress.com/2017/01/31/a-very-real-book-review-13/
Yuppydom

Good Reads

it is .... I used to go to Amazon to look up a book that I had read, really enjoyed, and see what recommendations they suggested be explored: a new Author or a new genres.

Seriously, I would never have found my favorite author Michael Connelly if I hadn't gone through this process.  Although I did this review for John Grisham which is self-explanatory as you read it as to the why.

Without John Grisham I would never have picked up a David Baldacci (which I think I still have a book to the right on my sidebar as a book I recommended).

You'd almost think that I'm a legalese thriller genre fanatic.  Unless you've read Connelly or Lee Child for that matter.  In any of the genres you are rooting for someone, cheering someone on against very large obstacles.  They're not always the little, downtrodden either.

Victims of Unfairness

Maybe that is the common denominator that all the authors I enjoy share:  writing stories about overcoming failure, sadness, corruption, bad bosses, bad companies ::..... basically, so many of us deal with that every day, it is nice to read about someone else's problems for a change?

I don't think that is the reason.  However pact and simple an explanation it sounds.    It could be turned around as a perception that if you enjoy that sort of thing, you like to help people, you want to be optimistic?  How about trying that on for size?

Similarly, I did go through a long phase of reading Steven Koontz paranormal physic benders.  Now I cringe when I pass one of his books or a suggestion or review that comes across my vision with his name on it.  Similarly to the memory still fresh of an 8-year-old Kelsey (now 22) cringing and gasping out loud: "no corn" after picking her up from the airport to return home from 2 weeks with Grandad and Grandma and corn on the cob every day.

But there was a real reason I wrote the review.  I was trying to escape from all the BAD NEWS I've been hearing lately.  How many more people have lost their jobs at an alarming rate in the city and province where I live.  Rarely do my online and real world collide at such ferocious impact!

If you've read more than one blog, and are not my mother (who may stop reading it AND talking to me after she sees her darling granddaughter's reaction to her visit 14 years ago that I wrote and shared with the world, who could clearly pick her out from a Grandmothers lineup for 1000s of miles around!) ... I have written before about causes I care about besides fashion, beauty, career, social media and writing .. on the milder side ... to more serious meanderings about things that I care about.

I don't believe that people want to read about anyone ranting about anything on social media.  If they are just waiting to pounce on a cause or a trending hashtag to join in with being HIP, that is their business.  That is the disappointing side of social media.

You cannot know, understand or have an opinion about anything based on 140 characters or less people!  OK, oops, that was a bit like a burp, sounding almost like a rant.  It is a very difficult exercise and mindset to stay the course on motivating, uplifting and inspiring stories when there are so many injections of rants.  I am trying VERY very hard NOT to be one of those people.

Having a gratitude attitude is not as hard as it sounds.  Some days you have to dig deeper to find a seed of optimism.  However, if you hang on and scour everywhere to find something to be thankful about, you can surely find it.

So in a way to escape from what I live in every day, where I live, where the majority of my city earns an income directly or indirectly because of the oil industry, one cannot turn a blind eye or tune everything out when it crosses over into your chillax time.

Our Canadian Prime Minister announced the approval of a couple of less controversial pipelines this past week.  It was about where I live, about people I care about:  my neighbors and community.

Sound Bite
The largest, resounding quote or sound bite came from a politician in Vancouver (who I cannot remember the name and don't want to sidetrack writing to go sleuthing to fact check, so I will omit intentionally).  What was said was to the effect that after a lot of careful assessment, scientific input, community say, the pipelines have been carefully evaluated based on the risk, that the environment is very important, but so is putting people to work so that they can put food on their tables, not lose their homes, be able to afford to send their kids to school.  That had an amazing profound impact.  It was so true!

Taking care of our citizens is now.  Taking care of our world is now.  However, with all the protests, fear mongering, and I'm going to say "politic'ing" by Obama, there bodes a question:  what is more important?  Taking care of the future of our world and our indigenous people OR giving our communities back by helping people work who want to work to put food on their table, pay for the roof over their family's heads?  People working for a living can afford to buy Christmas gifts to loved ones.  People who are unemployed or underemployed (working as a security guard when they are educated and experienced as an engineer) deserve to live their lives today.

So this is more of a squeak.  A sounding board on what others may not be thinking or saying:  what about those people who live in fear of terrorism or losing their jobs, their homes?  Without people working, they cannot buy an appliance from the guy in Canada (I will pull and comment about that at another time) who sponsors and brings 50 Syrian families (not singular, as in persons, but families as in multiples) into Canada through his own philanthropist efforts, out of pocket expense.  It was a moving and inspirational story on CBC this past week.

The guy figured out that he was lucky and helping others was a way of saying thanks and giving back.

Why don't the rest of us just calm down, relax and sit back and think about it.  I was talking to a client this week who brought up the destruction on the BC coast from the oil spill from the EXXon disaster.  What people are NOT protesting is the fact that it was human error, not the boat, not the ship, and not a pipeline that caused the devastation.

Did you read about the rail car that went off the rails in Quebec carrying oil that exploded, devastated a community and killed too many.  One was too many.

It makes me think more and more because I do read.  I do try to look from all the points of view.  I think of questions and I look for answers ... until I reach a stalemate where you are damned if you take the stance against the loudest voices.   Those voices only job may be that, lending voice to protest.  They were pretty quiet on behalf of Quebec.

Then again.  I haven't heard the real reason for why the rail tanker exploded causing so much devastation.  Something tells me that it will be something similar to the person being hungover or drunk.  A grave human error.  That allows the company to have a person to point the finger at.  That allows protesters to protest about.

I'm not going to say it or will I?  How many of the people feel who lose their jobs out of fear mongering and from people joining a cause that is not done in deep rooted knowledge or belief but because they like to fight for a cause.

Yes, the protesters may sleep peacefully tonight at long last.  They won.  That is like it always is.  A contest between winning and losing.

Unfortunately, the victims in this win are the ones who have been losing all along:  losing their jobs, losing money to buy food, losing the ability to keep their homes, losing income to celebrate the Holidays, unable to afford to contribute this year for great causes like homelessness, joblessness.  Finding themselves among those they helped such a short time ago.

Here is my real book review today on Good Reads:

I read this book when it first came out, as a devotee of John Grisham's.  His writing resonated with me  by his realistic approach to storytelling:  "believability" in the way that the characters transcend from a character to a person, for that to happen is only possible when the reader is vested in the outcome.

I apologize for not writing a review for John Grisham until now.  He certainly has earned it and deserves it even more.

Why?  If you have read thus far and care to ask?  I am a fan of John's stories because more often than not, I can relate to them.  They make me wonder who I know that this could happen to?  Would I feel the same if I read it in the news or a friend or associate told this to me as a story, as in realistic, true story!

But I am writing this today is because true to tradition, I have John Grisham's latest novel:  "The Whistler" on my bedside table, anxiously waiting for me, who is binge reading my latest book that I had started to read before buying the Hard Cover over a week ago.

Even more compelling is the reason for this review. Filtering the noise on Twitter, sorting through the loyal followers from the mutual admiration society, I noticed the Trending Tweet about the kibosh of the Dakota Pipeline Access from protests.  That is why I read:  to escape those crazy tweets that may be shared because it seems like the hip thing to do;  to try to censor and stifle my own reaction and thoughts.

My fingers were twitching .... so I reached deep inside to find something positive to say; which sometimes is difficult to do.  I wanted to rant back and call some "ninkomphoffs" (whatever the right spelling is) as in a tactful way of trying to say, if you have an opinion, at least be informed.

To the haven of John Grisham and Good Reads to see if I'm missing any glorious reads, like "Girl in the Train" not being discovered with out the nice coaxing by Good Reads.  Happy to note that I was on the "train" before the curve catapulted from must read into a must see movie.  That's what sets me apart, perhaps.  I like to find a really undetected, undiscovered gem of an author or book and read it.  Where I am at fault, is not sharing an opinion about it.  I will try to change that.  In fact about 4 months ago I did create a blog, never actually writing yet, even so far as a Twitter handle because I don't want to have a blog name that is not affiliated with a Twitter handle:  big author social media tip::  when you create a title for a book, ensure that you can secure a Twitter HANDLE and create a name first.  Then it will be so much easier to create an online presence.

So, to cut to the chase, before I dash out to finish this blog on http://ift.tt/2foMtQv as it may be helpful to write to help authors on their social media marketing efforts, then repost it on my The Publisher blog ..... before kickstarting my reading review Blog :: @readingaficionado

Reading this book called Gray Mountain opened my eyes to the plight of a community impacted by chopping off the tops of mountains to access highly profitable fossil fuels that pad the wallets of greedy corporations (that are run by executives, not real people).  Without reading this book, I would not have the depth to grasp the other side of the story:  when greed surpasses humanity.

That, in a nutshell, is what this book does.  It makes you realize that harm is caused to innocent children who are born in unfortunate surroundings.  No different if you are in the middle of war-torn Syria, or in the vicinity of progress like we saw in Rio to allow Brazil to host the past Summer Olympics, or to those in the community where a pipeline chugs along or where one is trying to be made.

It sure sounds like a fantastic plot that neither Grisham nor Baldacci can conjure without a piece of real life, real situations and characters imagined.

A conspiracy theory of the fentanyl kind

Update:  A call came in from the parent company of Canada Safeway:  Sobey's Loss & Prevention manager this afternoon (Mon Jan 30 2017) to follow up reporting this matter.  It sounds like the person needed some allergy medication and was short the cash.  Regardless, we should all be vigilant reporting odd behavior to avoid prices climbing due to employee fraud or theft.

If you've read my blog at least once before, like most of you here right now, you recognize that I am an avid reader, knowledge junkie who is testing her writing and learning as she moves along into the #soME (aka social MEdia).

I have never written or bitten into conspiracy theories.  The closest I can admit is a devotee of JFK and Marilyn Monroe conspiracy folklore, or truth, one can never decide whether it is fact or fake, fiction or folklore.  We can agree that conspiracy theories are what legends in viral social media attention are dreamed of.    This evening, I have one of my own.  Not experienced first hand, but vicariously to my anchor and steadfast "Hunkster Hubster" Rob.  This is when I favor the New York Times font that bespeaks serious journalism and trusted credibility.

After a beautiful weekend the past two weeks, with family, birthdays, anniversary, it is pretty quiet this last January of 2017.  I bid "adieu" to you.  With the mindset and blogposts revolving around mindfulness and being present.  Perhaps I'm ultra tuned into the moment because of that.

Nothing unusual when the Hunkster Hubster heads out to do our weekly grocery shopping:  whereby I am forever loving that he likes to get the groceries.  For fear of a detour that I may take, coming home with a couple of extra shopping bags from the ungrocery kind, he shoulders on every week faithfully with this task.  I'm at peace at home with our faithful hound and companion Buddy, able to click on these keys uninterrupted or distracted from the quest I am on:  putting words to thoughts to expunge them from my mind.  A mind that can get cluttered with ideas or memento scribe to capture the idea machine that is what my brain fosters up, never quite quiet as the evening wears on.

Rob comes home and looks mighty strong, as he can carry 4 or 6 bags at once, to remind me how impressive that is.  What is not unusual to this story either is the fact that he has this tendency to proclaim what he will accomplish this day, to be later forgotten as he slumbers away as the afternoon wanes.

He always comes up with decoys to distract me from paying attention to the fact that I am putting all the items away and dinner started, waiting for the finishing touches he will gather asunder and bring home.  Today, it was he said he wanted to call the local Safeway (only payment will have the name removed, as I become TRUMPed up in the capital world).  Apparently, my calm, steady husband made an observance that was so that he was disturbed.  He said he watched the cashier, with a black apron on, and an avid description should the Calgary Police Service would want to investigate, after the company does, whom he was assured would be following up.  (We will have to see won't we?)

The cashier leading star in this sega was trying to secretly pull out a slip of paper and scan it and sneak back into her pocket.  It registered with him that the scan gesture was odd, so he took careful notice, looking at the screen where he saw some sort of allergy medication appear.  (Neither of us need any sort of allergy medication, nor was it on the list that this time I did write up.)

He observed this quietly and then it was apparent that the starlet realized she'd been watched.  Thinking, like most people doing something dishonest do, that she was free and clear.  She slipped that bar code on cardboard or whatever it was and he noticed a red amount signifying subtraction on the screen.

Upon returning home, it was curious and curiouser that the item that was scanned and removed did not appear on the bill (a factor some techno guru devised, without comprehending that something considered for convenience could be twisted into something of crime).

He called the store and immediately reported it after asking to speak to the duty manager, who took in the details, with a promise of follow up within the next 24 hours (we shall see, right?)

We are known to watch some great movies and I am a fan of thrillers and novels that snag me for hours.  We started to exchange ideas on what the scan meant:  was it outright theft?  This woman is scanning things in on to unsuspecting patrons bills, where how many actually review each and every one?  (Certainly, the customers I bravely face every day in my quest for loyalty and retention wouldn't hesitate I can guarantee you.)

"Well, no" Rob protests:  "I didn't pay for my purchase with cash, so she can't be skimming from the cash register because all the money has been accounted for, even if not the smucks who are scammed, with payments by credit cards or ATM receipts.

"What about Fentanyl?" I jazzed up and asked.  Thinking out loud in a fashion James Patterson may consider a worthy plot:  How do you get an arsenal of ingredients for Fentanyl without setting off alarms by large volumes?

The plot thickens in my own mind.  Why not be a cashier at Safeway, and scan in products fictiously that can be emptied off the shelves because they were scanned, paid for by a number of unsuspecting people.  A fair exchange of trust with deceit? That remains to be seen, read or heard about.  Or a great plot for the book that everyone will write in their lifetime, waiting for the turn of the engrossing pages.

I will be sharing this post with the Calgary Police Service, Canada Safeway, and a couple of notable Canadian news media outlets for online content.  Maybe someone will pay me to post this blog and follow the story, in a journalistic spirit of freedom.

Those we have known merely by name
Setting the world afire with the flicker of their flame

Those who have been weakened by fame
Weakened by addiction where they don't know their name

Long lost souls collectively mourned the loss
Addiction is a weary road traveled at great cost
